{"id":845,"date":"2015-04-27T12:33:18","date_gmt":"2015-04-27T10:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/merlinleonard.com\/en\/?p=845"},"modified":"2023-04-19T19:21:04","modified_gmt":"2023-04-19T17:21:04","slug":"feedback-marketing-automation-solution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/merlinleonard.com\/en\/feedback-marketing-automation-solution\/","title":{"rendered":"Challenges and opportunities of a marketing automation solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After Sylvain&#8217;s introduction, the floor was taken by C\u00e9cile Maindron, Senior Manager in charge of online marketing at Talend, to give us <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merlinleonard.com\/marketing-automation\/les-10-bonnes-raisons-dopter-pour-marketo\/\">feedback on the implementation of Marketo in her company<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Before Marketo, outbound marketing problems<\/h2>\n<p>To introduce her presentation, C\u00e9cile first told us about the state of <strong>marketing before automation<\/strong> at <strong>Talend<\/strong>: the <strong>campaigns<\/strong> were <strong>one-sided<\/strong>, <strong>one shot<\/strong> and <strong>difficult to integrate across all channels<\/strong>, the tools were not integrated with each other&#8230; The result: a considerable <strong>waste of time<\/strong>, an <strong>incalculable ROI<\/strong> and a <strong>low conversion rate<\/strong> despite the large number of leads entering the database.<\/p>\n<p>We quickly had to move to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merlinleonard.com\/marketing-automation\/solution-marketing-automation-exemples-chez-marketo\/\">marketing automation<\/a> solution, and several criteria motivated the Talend team&#8217;s choice to switch to <strong>Marketo<\/strong>, since we had to think about a <strong>global implementation<\/strong>, with all the challenges that this entails.<\/p>\n<h2>The advantages of Marketo<\/h2>\n<p>According to Cecile, the biggest benefit of <strong>Marketo<\/strong> was <strong>the time savings<\/strong>, since it was now possible to <strong>clone campaigns<\/strong> rather than recreate them from scratch each time, but also <strong>to find lead lists dynamically<\/strong>, to <strong>synchronize events in real time<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Another very good point about <strong>marketing automation<\/strong> is <strong>scoring<\/strong>: instead of having lists where all the leads were &#8220;hot&#8221; and where sales teams could easily get lost, Talend now has access to <strong>prioritized lists based on the activities and demographic profile<\/strong> of each name. <strong>Native integration with certain CRMs<\/strong> such as Salesforce is obviously a plus for sales and marketing alignment.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, don&#8217;t forget the<strong> simplicity of ROI calculation<\/strong>! Thanks to <strong>Marketo<\/strong>, it is now possible to know which marketing actions have participated in the conversion of a lead, thus providing an answer in real time as to the costs attributed to the different campaigns and the effectiveness of these.<\/p>\n<h2>Some recommendations<\/h2>\n<p>If it is possible to implement Marketo by yourself, C\u00e9cile Maindron advises you to get help to avoid some pitfalls and waste of time. Another idea: <strong>do some tests<\/strong>! Marketo is a sufficiently fun and intuitive platform, and allows A\/B testing solutions in particular. The best way to know what works for you is to try it!<\/p>\n<p>Remember also that the solution is not everything, and that some challenges remain, especially on <strong>data management<\/strong> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merlinleonard.com\/marketing-automation\/deploiement-international-de-votre-projet-de-marketing-automation\/\">the case of an international company<\/a>! One last piece of advice?
